Bring our pilots home!
« on: November 04, 2006, 01:18:04 PM »
I've been so angry with the Brazilian Authorities' decision after the accident to revoke the American pilots' passports, which I consider to be an unlawful arrest.  Almost immediately after the accident, both the Brazilian authorities and Press have been constantly pushing theories that lay the blame squarely on the American pilots.  Finally, new information is available.

Bush ought to be publicly insisting that Brazil release our pilots.

Yep.  In fact, they're linked to from the thread we had discussing this when the crash happened.

I'll leave it as an excercise to the reader.

A "don't leave the country" restriction is pretty common for people under criminal investigation. Their final status will be determined by a court of law, and I'm sure your pilots will be cleared and allowed to leave the country.

Pictures of the plane.  It's actually only 1 pic but it shows the damage.

And, at this point of the investigation, I think it's pretty obvious that 2 people should be released without delay.

And, to be honest, considering the way the Brazilian authorities have been handling this matter so far, I wouldn't trust any of them to fry an egg much less investigate this accident properly.

..and if it'd be the other way around, it'd be pretty obvious to you that 2 brazillians shouldn't be released from US custody until an investigation is finished.

Why should they be released ?

You have no trouble keeping non charged innocent during 2 year  and yet you're pissed because 2 americans will be kept in custody during sometime ?
