US Navy TOE Information Source FWIW

I was looking for some information on squadron plane assignments and stumbled upon the following.  I think that it's a rich resource for the scenario developer and thought I would pass it along here.

Naval Historical Center

Pretty much tells you what unit had what plane type, current base, and their assigned numbers on a biweekly basis for the entire WWII period.

It also has all the Marine squadrons' locations as well.

Cheers,

The names of the irrelevant have been changed to protect their irrelevance.
The names of the innocent and the guilty have not been changed.
As for the innocent, everyone needs to know they are innocent –
As for the guilty… they can suck it.

Thanks Filth.  Didya take a look at the last couple reports at the end of the war.  Looks like the F4U-4 was on quite a few flattops.  And one CV was deploying with the Bearcat.

Also thought it was interesting that they mixed F4U types in the big carrier squadrons.  Some squadrons had 1Ds as well as 1Cs and then a couple -4s!

Cheers
