My dog got his tail caught in the door this morning when the wind blew it shut on him. Took off about a 1/2 inch of the end of his tail. He cried real loud then went back to his quiet self. Then my grandfather showed up, his favorite person in the world, and started wagging his tail. So now my kitchen is covered in blood. We took him to vet. After 2 stitches, a wrapping, and a large bill we came home. Hes sleeping now. Just have to make sure he dosnt chew on the wrap. His tail looks like a matchstick now.

The things we do for our pets.
I'll post a picture as soon as picture hanger comes back.

My Dane had a similar encounter with a car door. Be careful and watch out for a bone infection. If you dog starts to loose it's appitite or has a lack of energy/enthusiasim it'd be wise to get back to the vet.

Had to take off all but 6 inches of my dogs tail after the last 3 vertebrae in the tip got damaged because of a bone infection.

The door, yeah right. C'mon, we're friends here, you can admit the cat got him:D

We dont like cats. No cat is found anywhere near our house. They know better with a large black lab and a german shepard to chase em away.

The dog has medication to take to prevent infection. He goes back sunday for a check up.
