Im on panic please help!!!!!!!!!!

Hello I´m having a problem with my AH software.
my system specs:
pII-266
64 RAM
diamond monster 3d 2 (voodoo 2 chip)
realtek sound card asl-100++
directx 8
a 2 buttons analog joy (dont now wich type is I think is like a generic old one )

I updated my soundcard dirvers yesterday,
after that my AH software dont want to start


thats the error message "initialization failde with -5 mainSN_ failled. -2"
them drops me to desktop :-(
please I really need help on that I tried everything:
reistall software, directx, my joy is working well , etc, etc
 now Im thinking to format pc , but I have a 3 years work there so this is not a solution

any help please?

Give this a try:  Uninstall AH.  Now go into explorer-> program files -> htc -> aceshigh -> delete settings folder that will be left over.  Reboot and reinstall AH.  This will basically do a completely clean install of AH.  (You can keep the custom sound folders you might have.)

(Note: You will lose all of the previous view, jstick, keyboard mapping, sound volume, etc changes you made.)

I had to remap everything but now the game starts just fine
