Rumble 2001 ROE
« on: July 05, 2001, 10:44:00 PM »
Saturday, July 14. 4pm EDT/1pm Pacific in the Special Events Arena.

If you've registered for this event, now is the time to start paying closer attention to the Rumble forums, as that is where the organization and flight assignments are taking place. Please check in. If you've forgotten your password, e-mail me.

Rules of Engagement:

Each field will launch with 16 flyers at the same time. Whichever side has the last plane/s still airborne at the end  will be the winner of of that round. This is a best of three match, though all three rounds will be played.

The Allies will be flying for Rooks, and the Axis will be flying for Knights. Spectators are welcome (there are several floating observational towers), and will be on the Bishop country.

The rules are as follows:

1) No sitting on the runway. When it comes time to launch, you must start rolling.

2) You can not re-enter the valley from where you launched once you have left it.

3) You cannot fly over the walls. Though you may climb higher than the walls, you are not to break the vertical barrier of them.

4) If your ring has been cleared of enemy fighters, you must make your way to the center ring. You may grab to a ceiling of 22,000 feet, but once that altitude has been met you must be heading towards the center (keep in mind that while you are grabbing, your countrymates may already be getting ganged in there).

5) Once you enter the center ring you may not leave it.

(Just a guideline... eg. If you're in a Tempest with no ammo, no more Allied planes up, and a pack of angry 109s chasing you around the arena, be reasonable... there are 159 people waiting to get the next fight underway.)

Beyond this, anything goes.

Friendly collisions: Off

Killshooter: Off

Icons: On

(Note to CMs - no limit on switching countries)

Each country gets 1 refueling/rearming field each (in the center ring). These are unprotected, so use at your own risk.

----------------------------------
Important info for flight leaders:

We will be using the mission planner to ensure an equall number of pilots per field, as well as an even start time. Each side should designate a leader for each of the 5 rings, and they will be responsible for uploading their mission on each round, as well as making sure that no more than 16 people have joined it. It is strongly recommended that each of these leaders write their missions ahead of the match, with only the start times needing to be edited. If you have questions about the editor, speak up. Ripsnort has volunteered to help with the mission writing.

Ring leaders <g> should have their own roster of sixteen pilots each (taken from the main roster) that they will be flying with in each round. This way they'll be able to quickly identify any gate crashers who take up spots reserved for those who've registered. At some time well prior to the event, you should have these rosters (including the field they will be flying from) made up and posted to your forums to ensure that all 160 people are accounted for. Additionally you should seek to get confirmation by them. If you have trouble getting ahold of anyone in your group, let me know and we'll track them down.

If your side is short the 80 flyers, there will probably be a pool of standby's, spectators etc. watching from the Bishops that you may recruit. Ring leaders will be responsible for their own recruiting. If you still can't fill your numbers, ensure that your rings are maxed at 16 with only one ring being short. We'll then make sure the opposing country will fly only the number you are left with for that ring.

Once the missions are filled and the numbers are even, the flight leaders will let Hangtime and Hristo know. They will then let the CMs know their side is ready, and a start time will be given. The flight leaders will then enter that start time into their missions. Once the "ready" call has been given to the CMs and a start time given, there's no turning back. If any discos should occur between then and the launch, tough cookies <g>.

Only Hangtime, Hristo and the CMs may talk on channel one. Each flight should have their own private radio channel (maybe just add a zero to the number of the field you are flying from).

I expect the 1st round to take as much as a half an hour to get organized for, but after that things should move along more quickly.
-------------------------------

The planes available for each round are as follows:

Fight 1:
--------
Allies: Spitfire V, Spitfire IX, Typhoon, P47D-11
Axis: Bf 109F-4, Bf 109G-2, Bf 109G-6, Fw 190A-5

Fight 2:
--------
Allies: Spitfire IX, Typhoon, P47D-25, P51B, F6F5, F4U-1D La5FN, Yak9T
Axis: Bf 109G-2, Bf 109G-6, Fw 190A-5, Fw190A-8, Ki 61, A6M5b, C.205

Fight 3:
--------
Allies: Spitfire IX, Tempest V, P 51D, P47D-30, P 38L
Axis: Fw 190D-9, Me 109G-10, Ta 152H-1

Load-outs are up to you.

The perk planes for round three will be limited to 5 per side. It's up to Hangtime and Hristo as to how these will be doled out.

There will be a one month free account given to the survivor of round three who has the best overall K/D. In the event of a draw, I will be keeping this for myself. Kidding. Should that happen (unlikely), we'll figure something out.

If you are killed, you may switch to the Bishops to watch from one of the observational towers, but make your way back to your country as the fight winds down in order to join the mission for the next round. If you have to leave before the end of the Rumble for any reason, please let your flight leader know.

If you see any holes in this ROE or have any concerns, please do voice them.

Have fun!

Nash
