creton is a great stick, in a 109 he may be one of the very best, but overall he doesnt match up to airvent, or balsy, blukitty, leviathn...to name but a few. even little me can beat snot out of creton in a spit5 or certain other planes no problem. in a 109 i couldnt touch him for aim and E management.


there are E fighters that are the very best of one on one sticks, DA setup standard stuff.

what makes the best pilot for me are those who never gloat, never demand DA to prove a point, these pilots kick the crap out of you, me, and creton in the random style fighting of the main arenas.



those are the players that dont even come into these threads and they are the true gods of ACM.


there is a difference between being 'the best' in the DA environment simply because you 'love to be the best and always win' and being 'the best' by everything about you passion for dogfighting.



two types of 'the best'. despite the generous offers in people's lists i am not in the top level as far as i care.

Those who fight with a clear passion and love of air combat, and the friends you can make who love it the same as the next man here, mean 100 times more to me than those who just get really good at dueling tech and can beat me one on one.

creton would love to be 'the best' it would make him real satisfied i wish him good luck.

I was there when catfish beat stang in a 1 vs 1 spit fight, it was funny - stang made excuses about connection and his ammo not doing anything.

hey, guys, we forgot wldthing, crazy spit merge and moves :)

i've never really got to fight drex, only a few MA f6f duels, and he was very rusty, shame really :( like TW says, we should try and get a duelling ladder setup.

Theres two people missing from most of your lists but seen as though im in the same squad as them i cnt vote for them. Pretty sure you all know who im talking about considering what squad im in. All i can say is underestimate them and it will be your downfall lol. I havnt flown with or against a lot of those people on everyones list and i havnt been killed by a lot of them either (only because i avoid them and run, joke) dnt know if its because im lucky or just play at different times. The amount of times i have flown with with the two people outta our squad and watched them fly into a furball and pretty much kill the lot of them between them is amazing by the time i get near to the fight everyone is dead and them too are rtb to land their 10 plus kills every sortie.

To be honest, no one is the best of the best.  TW9 might be able to pawn stang but can't beat someone else.  I might be able to beat batfink but I can't beat lets say creton.  What I am saying is that there always someone out there that can beat u.  There are so many different flying styles and combinations of the flying styles that u can't beat them all.

I might add that there are many good and competent stiks that I didn't mention for time and memories sake, If you want to know who the real badarses are, just take a note the next time you see a plane off to the side of the furball on the deck and you and a couple of buds decide to jump him only to all be sitting in the tower talking about how you missed a great shot on the guy and should have had him!  That's when you know you've been owned!

I think some of you missed this post earlier in this thread, I keep hearing these names pop-up when someone says they forgot about one or two guys!  These were the best when I was coming up and most could still hand 99% of the community their arse no matter what the advantage!:aok

Also as someone stated, it can be the mood they're in before they log on, or stress with their "sheep", lol  many many factors dictate who's the best on anygiven day!  Oh, I might add, alcohol!  really plays a part in diminishing your reactionary skills and your decision making in a fight!
