Film! I use it when i have a good fight and if the guy runs home. Just record for a second go and look at the film.

Most of you folks know upon the merge against whom you are flying? I thought that was the question....whom do you fear? How can you fear one before you merge?

i had a couple of f6f duels with drex a few months back. he was of course very rusty, but we had a great time. where's he gone? :(

well, you usually have these fights in the DA or at KoTH, so yes, you do know. otherwise, you can tell by their flying style after a few immelmans, and how they merge with you is always a dead giveaway

That's a toughie cause some really good sticks tend to always fly from a disadvantage and still win.

Levi is one of those.   Stang is one.  I can always tell when I run into one of their Spits in my 38G cause that first turn at the merge is amazing.  I can't reverse that quick and I'm dead.

BluKitty has that same bit too.  No idea how he turns that thing so quickly.

FX1 does that with the Spit 16.  I got closer last time but still died.

Some of the 56th guys do amazing things in the Jug that I can't hope to replicate.  

Delirium, although he hasn't flown in a bit, can take a 38 into a brawl and come out the other side too.  Yukon is that way.  We'll wade into a fight and I'll come out with 2 kills (if I survive) and he'll come out with 9.  No clue how he does it.  Raptor is that way too and Soulyss.

Creton really bends his birds too.

There are just too many to name.

All I know for sure is there are a group of pilots in this game who can do things with thier cartoon planes that I can't.  And I always know within one turn when I've found one.  Cause I don't usually get the second turn :)

I really think that the da is a bad place to rank a player. One vs One co alt merger is not a good standard. I like to fight someone high/lower different amounts of E to really get a good idea about my opponent. The da is a fun place but if you do the same moves over and over use your flap and throttle that same way 100's of time in the da. Main is what this game is all about and their are some really good stick that can kill you just has fast if you have the advantage our not. I think if i have a couple good fights in main with one guy can tell me more than just a 3 round da duel. We use reversals and holding E more in the game and the da really doesn't show a person ability to make moves that have not been staged 100's times. I guess you could do it in the da but most players would like a co alt merge same fuel same ride.
