In game screen shots are .bmp's but.....
« on: September 05, 2000, 05:07:00 PM »
AH makes .bmp screen shots, but Adobe PhotoShop is unable to open these because of a parse error. Any ideas....

btw, I'm not the only one having this problem, I use ver5.5, but LJK_Raubvogel is also have the same problem with ver5.0

Thanx in advance

I cheat personally. I can't remember the URL off the top of my head, but search around for a program called IRview. This little wonder will convert any graphic format to any graphic format. GIFs, BMPs, JPGs, TGAs, you name it this thing might do it. Resizing is blindingly fast, plus it'll do thumbnails although not very well.

cheers FB, I was hoping HTC would explain why the AH .bmp's don't seem to match what PS and prob other programs consider .bmp's to be...

Hey LJK..
I think the product Flakbait is refering to is "Irfanview", I've used it since the early versions and as he says it's bloody amazing the latest version  even plays mp3's etc

Go get it now     http://stud1.tuwien.ac.at/~e9227474

I just open the .bmp files in paint or whatever and highlight it and copy it to the clipboard.  Then go into photoshop create a new file and paste the image onto the canvas.

Why go through all that when you can simply fire up Irfanview and convert the sucker to a JPG? Resize, swap formats, change rez, make thumbnails [badly]. He could get $50 easy for this doohickey, but it's free and I pray it stays free.

Long time Irfan view user here also. Latest version is amazing what it will do. And it's built right & tight. No install, just unzip it into a dir (or even onto a CD!) and poof, your in business.
