Hello SWAT!

As has already been mentioned, the very first thing you need to do is set up your controller (ie Joystick) and calibrate it (both windows and game). Instructions for that can be found on the official help page or on our Trainer Corps Homepage for both Joystick (or in case you do not have one yet, mouse as interim solution).

Another thing you need to set up before you enter any engagements is your views. Setting your views is not very difficult and will greatly ease your tracking of an opponent.

Another thing thats really helpful is this one page Keyboard Reference when printed out and on your desktop.

As for flying: Id start out in a Spitfire MkV as they are very easy to handle. If you reduce your fuel load in HANGAR to 50%, a lighter plane will be even more forgiving. Practicing of takeoff, landing and basic maneuvers gives you an idea what a plane can and cannot do.

If you already have an online account feel free to come by the Training Arena and ask for help there (Radio Usage). Due to the holiday seasons the Trainers do not schedule official Training sessions untill the new year, but if you see one of us online, do not hesitate to ask for help.
