Denholm, is there an eight letter limit on the name of the map file?

You mean the terrain project name? Or the Clipboard map? The clipboard map has to be named after the terrain it is being attached to, the terrain project name must be 8 characters or less.

Yes, I meant the former.  Hmm!  I see.

I have a problem; I made a map named Blue Sky, people downloaded it, and all went well.  However, I've updated it, and people are having conflicts because apparently new versions do not overwrite old on client's machines.  Merlin tells me I must rename the terrain.  Now, how exactly is the best way of going about this?  The "save as" option is greyed out in the terrain editor, so I can't save it with another name.  I already tried renaming the built terrain to BlSky102, but that caused errors.  Do I have to rename every file within the Blue Sky directory before building?

Yup... and don't forget to rename the map file in the texsrc folder, too.

Although, it would be simpler if you just told people to delete their old versions.

I agree, and that's what I've been doing.  However, a large number of people downloaded the first version, and I don't remember all of them.  One fellow who had been in my server the day before the terrain change came in and asked, "Where are the enemies coming from when there are no enemy bases?"  I replied, "There are Knight bases, look on the western island."  He informed me that the western island was quite free of bases.  That's when I figured out that there were conflicts.  So a large number of people are possibly unaware that there even is a problem, not making the connection between enemy fighters and missing bases.

I think I did mention in my tutorial that when you make an update to your terrain after you've already built it, you need to rename the terrain. Otherwise if you placed more mountains and such, someone who has the older version can fly through them while other's have to pull away to prevent from slamming into them.
