I believe HiTech is flying the R-22 Training helocopter like in that crazy video. Good luck HiTech, be sure to wear a parachute. (Yes you can bail from a helocopter, just have make sure the thing is going up and your going down)

That helo in the video looks like a Hughes 300 to me.

hehe...Don't let these poor misguided souls discourage you Hitech. You are in for some fun flying!

What type are you training on?

I have a few hours here and there on several types

Feel free to PM or email me if you need some insight, or even just a sounding board.

"Kick the skid and spin the lid!"

And don't worry about what ASW said. He tends to see the world a little differently than most of us. :D

cheers,

Top picture is the bird I am flying.

Did about 5 aproches to land ending in hover about 3 ft off ground. Hover ,taxi hover, turns while in hover, And left and right moves. And did one autorotation.
I was very bz for a first day.

Congrats, HT. Trust me, you will have some interesting dreams tonight. :)

Wait until you solo the first time... without the instructor in there, the weight and balance is VERY different.

MMU is turbine, expensive turbine at that..S-76Cs, EC-135s.

I have seen a couple Schweitzers lately, R-22s and 44s once in a
blue moon.  I don't expect to see alot more unless a flight school starts
operating them here.  Rotor time runs about twice what fixed wing does
according to my rotorhead wannabe pals :)

When I was a kid, a TV show aired titled "Whirlybirds" and the chopper they flew did not look too different from the pic you posted.

Enjoy the lessons!
