you should allow dive bombers for both teams.  the IL-2 vs the stuka will offset each other very nicely.
This sounds like a good idea to me, but maybe outside of "heavy metal Monday."  We've run Filth missions and other various mini-scenarios in the past.  This one sounds fun.

Although there would have to be a couple ground rules, like only one aircraft life per player, or only a certain percentage of planes allowed per side, or something.

As a sub for the tank-busting version of the Stuka, might want to allow the Hurrie IID.  Would have a better chance against the IL2 in air-to-air fight than the Stuka.  2 of the 7 - odd mm mgs on the Stuka vs. the armor of the IL2 may be a bit too challenging . . . then again allowing Ostis on the German side may offset . . . not sure.

I would rather have a T-34 than a Panzer, and no planes, this idea is based around an ALL GV battle, if they want to bomb tanks then they can head to the MA.

The majority of people i get to show up to this event is based soley on the fact that there's no planes.

Personally, I think the idea of the unarmed RV8's for spotter planes (you know they each side had those) is a good idea. At one time I did a lot of GV'n and got half way proficient at them, but since I'm not now, I'd gladly fly a spotter plane for the guys on the ground if they wanted them. I think our VOX is a very close approximation of the way they would have had to spot "no, its behind the other hill" at the time.

If the GV guys think they would rather not have spotters I'm OK with that too, its their deal, give them what they want I say.

in some electronic components the impedence range is critical to proper operation. try replacing the wire with one of exactly the same length and guage.  try to solder the connection really cleanly and no big old blobs.  clean the contacts with a mild acid first.
