Lazs2, time to get down to the salvage yard to see if they have any more.  

This guy put the 500hp, 1050ft/lb torque V8 from a Sherman tank into a Mustang.  Anything's possible with a little bit of help from an a-daptor kit.

on the one hand I gotta say, he could get +500hp with something a lot smaller and lighter,  but the little kid in me says, WWWOOOOOOWWW, let me hear it run :O  

He says a heavily modified powerglide, thats dodge aint it?  He doesnt mention what he's going to use for a drive shaft and a rearend, and doesnt he run a risk of just ripping the rims and tires right off?  Also gotta wonder about the weight of the engine and what kind of modifications to the front suspension to support all that.  

Coolness factor is way cool :cool:   looks like one of those Rat Fink rods.

the big question is if there is a conversion kit to add the .50 and 75mm guns to the car and get rid of "obstacles" :D

That's pretty cool. It does remind me of those drawings from the 70's where the engine is almost as big as the car, just needs a gear shifter sticking out the roof of the car. Kind of surprising the technology in that engine for the period when it was built.

Oh BTW a powerglide is a product of GM. It's a two speed automatic, they have been around a long time and are real popular with the drag race crowd.

The powerglide is a GM two speed tranny.

yep you guys are right, I get it confused with the TorqueFlite.  I shouldnt confuse them cause I spent a whole summer rebuliding a 727 transmission for my 72 dodge truck I had.

I wonder how much oil it holds and how he planes to keep it cool, gonna need a huge radiator

Lots of Drag guys use Powerglides. Not sure why, but I assume it's cause they are strong.

Maybe laz knows.

"One Piece At A Time" is a great tune and probably my favorite Johnny Cash song - nice homage, Chairboy.   Not sure how popular it was in its day - I grew up in a small town with a single AM radio station, and the local DJ liked it too so we heard it often.

Powerglides are light, don't leech a lot of power, and if you build them right they're darn near bullet proof.
