Laz you have a point... so, until I experience something worse, I'll go with heights and clowns.

Seriously... clowns give me the willies

Going on an african safari, not that it will ever happen.... but anyway, going on an african safari, and being captured and eaten alive by some primitive african tribe.
And as they're eating the flesh from my bones, hearing one say to his buddy, "click click, whistle whistle, snap snap." which would roughly translate in english to -tastes like chicken-.

I have a similar one....going on a canoe trip and being captured by a bunch of toothless inbred hicks.  Whistle whistle click click snap snap sounds they make translate to "I'm white trash and enjoy homosexual activity, particularly with relatives."

Being in a situation that causes me to display moral cowardice.  But for the grace of God and all that...

Hardly Lazs.  Most people are afraid of Lions and Alligators, mainly because they can dominate us if they choose to.  But that's not the point of the thread.

The point of the thread is Unreasonable Fear.  It is unreasonable to be afraid of heights, in which there is little probability of you ever falling.  Or in my case, it is unreasonable to be afraid of public speaking.  Nothing bad could come to me if I speak in public, but why does it affect me so badly?

I have a fear of hights in that when im on top of a building looking down i get vertigo...not real bad but i still get it.
However the odd part is that I love to fly and skydive. actually jumping out of a perfectly good A/C and floating to the ground suspended under a thin layer of silk doesnt bother me at all, in fact I love the experince.
the dorway and that first jump kinda unnerves me but not like being ontop of a tall building looking down over the edge..i cant do it but for a minute. And if i look up, i get really dizzy. i dont understand that one at all but looking straight up from atop a tall structure gets me all off ballance and dizzy feeling with a healthy dose of vertigo thrown in
Crap now I gotta redo my cool sig.....crap!!! I cant remeber how to do it all !!!!!

"Whistle whistle click click snap snap." while i've seen discovery channel specials where real tribes sound like that, i've never heard a hick that sounded like that.

More like. "I reckon iz gonna make you my dinna boy. And you sho do has a purty mouth."

...come on man, get it right.

laser...  I think you are the one who is wrong..  I did not see the words "ureasonable fears" until you said em.

The guy who started the thread talked about sharks...  That seems pretty reasonable to me.

88..  I am scared by most of the things that everyone else is..  I also realize that at some point you just can't get any more scared...  the trick is to still function.
