Terry Glenn was pretty much the class of the field of wide recievers in Dallas and wasn't faking suicide , dropping big passes , acting like an idiot , mouthing off , or generally doing anything remotely like the T.0. Moron did.

As long as Jerry Jones owns , signs the checks , acts like the coach behind the scenes , general manager and pretty much tries to run everything the Cowboys will just be a 2nd level team. They wont be terrible all the time , but they'll generally fall short.

Jones BOUGHT 3 superbowls cause he paid thru the NOSE to get the players he did. HE put them in Salary cap probs. within the first 3 - 5 years and luckily for them it paid off. But its still a lingering problem.

Not to mention , why would you hire Wade Phillips , knowing the Jason Garret will be the "Next" head coach. And the next question is why did Wade take the job?

I mean...If money wasn't really an issue , would you WANT to work under JJ and deal with T.O.? Geesh why not get your gallballder yanked with some tylenol for pain?

The Cowbys have some strong talent. They need a 2nd'ary. Phillips may bring something to the table for that.

They need a stronger running back....and the need to get rid of that IRONBALL called T.O.

Oh and as I read in another thread....I hope the tuna lands in N.Y. Hope they beat the Cowboys next year as well if he is there. I wish he would meet T.O. in the middle of the field and give him a big ole finger and tell him something like...... Next level huh? You need to work on the level your at first before you venture up in class.

If he had left Jimmy Johnson alone they would have been good for three more superbowls

Sixpence,

Beside the fact the smart thing for the corner to do under the circumstances (see "Marlin Jackson" in the AFC championship game) was to fall down on the ball, it isn't really what I was referring to.

How 'bout going for it 4th-and-too-far-to-even-think-about-it in the first half? "I was just trying to fire my guys up!" What?! Gave NE short yardage and a score that mattered. Without that play alone we wouldn't even be talking about a stripped interception.

Dumb. Dumb, dumb, DUMB!

Now I'll give you Tom Brady may be the best in the business in making the most of whatever you give him,  but NE needed SD to make some dumb mistakes to win. SD obliged, and much of the credit belongs squarely on Marty's shoulders.

SD just might have been the best balanced team in the league this year. They dominated regular season in the AFC. The players played pretty well in that game too, but the team did just enough to lose.

You're assuming that SD kicks a field goal, i'm assuming if they try to kick it gets blocked and run back for a TD

It wasn't Marty would couldn't cover Reche Caldwell on a go route with the game on the line

SD just might have been the best balanced team in the league this year.

I think their secondary is quite suspect, covered by a good pass rush. But when a decent offensive line was able to give a good QB a few extra seconds, it was exposed.

but the team did just enough to lose.

I say it was New England who did just enough to win. As a Pats fan I could say the Pats did just enough to lose the AFC championship game, but Indy made more plays at the end to win the game. It is what it is.

You sir are VERY correct. Forgot to metion that point as well.

Johnson was and probably still would be a GREAT coach. He could have won 2 or 3 more.

I'm assuming you kick it for better field position and make NE travel farther for a score. True, their kicker is good and *might* have made it, but the distance was so far I wouldn't have gone for it. Pin 'em back at the 10 yard line if you can. It was too early in the game to get so reckless.

And yes, I do believe NE did just enough to lose the AFC championship. The Colts were down 21-3 in the first quarter. You've had an interception for a touchdown and a fumble into the endzone for another- clearly everything is going your way. It's still 21-6 at halftime. Yes, Indy needed help to get back in that game, I'd say.
