Still a very interesting show.  Far better than the original two series and the campy 1980's style they were written in.

Lot's of nice little touches; the population odometer counting down every episode, decent graphics and shipboard sets for the most part, all in all a good sci fi series with a pretty (relatively) small budget.  Not exactly "Firefly", but a close second, and lasting a lot longer.  Some of the "retro" devices used on set are funny.... seeing very old commo headsets in general use and duce-and-a-half trucks on "New Caprica".... but like I said, very low budget.

As to the plot..... somewhat indifferent.  The characters are all very human, but none that really are so strong or stand out for me to have any emotional investment in any one character to that point;  well, almost:  Kandyse McClure's "Anastasia Dualla" is uber cute.   Grace Park's character can always come back as Lt. Sharon 'Boomer/Athena' Valerii/Agathon.

Sort of miss that little firebrand character of Luciana Carro's:  Lt. Louanne 'Kat' Katraine.

But I'll get over it.

Baltar doesn't need a trial he need to be put in the nearest airlock. Then open the outer door and watch what happens to him then.

I just watched the ending again and her last words included "I FEEL the other side"  "they are expecting me"

She probably will end up cylon or one of the final five.  Lucy Lawless (forget the character name) was obsessed with exploring the period between life and resurrection before being frozen... they may continue with that theme.  Perhaps the final five haven't any affiliation with humans OR cylons.  either that or the season will ultimately become a dissappointment.  Hope they don't have another 2981048 month break in the future. :(

Chances that Starbuck is a cylon are slim imo...I think its a big bait and switch for a reveal for one of the final five (my bet was Dulla, or Gaeta - but its most likely Ellen Tigh)

If she ejected.... there would be some precedent.

In the original BSG, Starbuck was stranded for years on a planet with a Cylon, if I recall correctly, and that end with some mystical claptrap that brought about the disembodied alien guy in the BSG:1980 series.  If she ejected and ended up stuck with a chrome dome and something happened, that wouldn't be entirely dissimilar.  - ~~~~

The Return of Starbuck was the only decent episode of Galactica 80 - it was  when a downed Dirk Benedict repairs a chrome dome, and they become friends whilst building a ship from bits of a viper and raider...I can't see Kara Thrace doing the same thing unless it ended with her cutting its throat...

when the show came out it was a pretty good sci fi action show... no.. a damn good one..  it was filmed in a gritty noir kinda way but not so much to get in the way of the action.

now... it is a weepy, "artistic" soap opera for women to watch that is powered soley by lefty political PC crap when it isn't just reverting to drama queen.

It is almost painful to watch these days.

They already remade that episode. Remember when Kara flew the raider back to Galactica?

If you go by the SciFi chan boards theres alot of theorys (sp). The most common is she ejects and is picked up by the cylon ship...that cylon guy in the episode said he wasnt the guy she was living with on new caprica.  The boards made reference to "the ship of light" from the 1st series.  One of the main cast members was supposed to "find earth" this season, and with only 4 eps left i think ol' starbuck will find it and then reappear next season.  Folks were hot on that other board, glad all of us here at AH dont take our game as serious as those guys take their show.....lol

Problem being, she ejected over a gas giant/or heavy atmosphere planet (not exactly sure which), just above the "hard deck" --- the point at which the dense atmo would prevent her Viper from climbing back to orbit, and below that atmospheric pressure heavy enough to crush her Viper (which *should* translate into her being crushed at the moment she ejects.... human/cylon bodies being softer than metal skin of Viper....ejecting under those circumstances should have pushed all of her body up into her helmet).

So, writing they're way out of this one could get a little bizarre.
