I really want to like this show, but the writing sucks hard.  Way too much drama and not enough action for me, I fast forward through most of the episodes lately looking for the exterior shots.

Good riddance to the worst plot convenience and crutch the writers have if she's gone.  Who's the best viper pilot?  Starbuck.  Who's the best sniper?  Starbuck.  Who's the best interrogator?  Starbuck.  Please.

Too much soap opera and not enough space opera.

another example is the whole firearms thing...  in the beggining the survivors of a burned out planet were using hit and run tactics and modern military weapons against the cylons...  No explanation on where they came from.... but.. they had em and were holding their own..

later.. the whole fleet goes down to a planet that they have never seen and know nothing about.. and..  no one is armed.. no one.   the cylons come and just take over.. virtually without a fight...

No one... none of the writers asks why this is possible.. why the people are allowing themselves to be rounded up and shot or tortured.

on the ship.. it is a socialist police state.. firearms are not mentioned... no one has em but a few marines you see walking around for some unexplained reason or another.   They writers just don't seem to know what to do with gun control issues.. they just ignore em... guns get in the way of the weepy drama.

I know how you kieran are thinking about guns these days but let the show sink in... there are no guns in the utopia of the show... but... whenever they are needed.. whenever they are unavoidable to the plot.... they just magicaly appear out of nowhere?   when the plot needs em...  everyone has em.. when it doesn't.... they are all frigging england or something.

They don't mention guns because they can't explain em without fostering a pro second amendment stance.

guns... I liked it a lot at first...  it is only this season that I started to feel like it was getting bad..  I record the shows to watch later (one of the very few tv shows I watch) and lately... I am finding that I am not even looking forward to playing it.

Used to.    not any more.   I find the shows depressing and badly done and contrived lately..

I don't mind  a little badly done and contrived if at least there is some entertainment but sheesh...  I will probly watch a few more to see if it gets better and then give it up.

I bet I'm not the only one either.
