I use windows XP, i have 1024MB of ram and 80GB of hard drive... and recently i have replaced the whole motherboard with a BiostarP4M80-M4 and a new Radeon 9800XT graphics card, which i think added a littlebit of ram also, not sure

do you have a good download of the game ?? it may have gotten corrupted .

also you need Direct X 9.x .. and the 4.12 cat /omega drivers work best on that 9800 card .

you may have someting fubared in windows though ... do any other games /installers work ok ???

It is a bad download.  Usually caused by anti-virus programs.  If you use a download manager, such as "GetRight", then these types of problems usually go away.
