I am having trouble getting this program to work on my PC.  I have a university issued gateway E-1200.  DirectX 8.0 is installed and I have tried changing the video settings on the game by deleting the video.cdf file numerous times but I still get the BSOD (blue screen of death) when I try to boot the game up.  Has anyone else had this problem?

Folks here will need your system specs to be able to help. Escpecially what kind of video card you have and what drivers.

As far as I have found I have an ATI Rage 2C video card (that may be the problem).  Our computor support team was not much help in this depatment.  I will try investigating this further and post more info.

What video resolution and color depth are you selecting?  DO NOT choose 32 bit color for that card.  I would try the absolute minimum resolution for now, and if that works try some others.  I don't expect you will get very good performance from that particular video card though.

Does ATI have video drivers out for your card that support DX8?

Thanks for the advice about the driver!  That did the trick.  One thing though, I'm now having trouble with frame rates and being able to read the fonts on the manilla pages.

I have an ATI card too, there is text bar "tearing" and text problems on all ATI cards I've seen.

As for the framerate, probably not too much you can do there.
