the grill is dead, long live the grill.

my grill died and I no longer want to repair it.  I'm considering building my own but will also consider looking at manufactured options  we grill often and year 'round.  we grill all types of red and white meats and also prepare the fixings on the grill, typically we grill with 4-6 couples in attendance especially during the summer months.  is anyone here well pleased with their home depot or other similar type store grills?

Weber kettle, for 80 bucks it'll go 10 years.    Has all you need in airflow control.
Gas grills just dont give the flavor as a good smoker, IMHO.

This gentleman is in Houston; I know him personally.

Builds a very fine grill or smoker or grill/smoker. He has standard models but he will happily build you a custom setup.

Very reasonable, very well done and he will either deliver or arrange delivery.

Ask for Jose; he built his first grill as a high school project. Went on to become a licensed welder and built several businesses. A very nice guy and will add any custom touches you may dream up.

Grill?  What's a grill?  Is there any truth to various allegations that blackened meat can cause cancer?

I love barbecue, but have to admit I'm a little scared of eating much of it.

According to a TV doctor a few years ago, anything blackened is a carcinogen and should be avoided like cigarettes.  What do TV doctors know?  GRILL ON!

dudes I'm 51 and long ago came to the realization that no one gets outta here alive.  besides that grill satisfies some primal urges in all of us meat eaters.  I have an apple tree that actually bears apples but I don't keep it for the apples but for the wood.  sometimes we grill with apple other times with oak then another time with orange or citrus woods.  it's a mighty wonderful thing, grilling is.  health risks be damned.
