This is a great headset.  It does not have headphones, just a mic attached to a headband, but it produces excellent voice quality and costs less than $5.  I bought three of them  so as to have two for spares.  It's the best mic I've ever used.

I use a Medusa and love it

Best headset I've ever had

I also play first person shooters, so it might be overkill for AH

I have been using Plantronics DSP-500 for 3 years now.

They sound great and I have never had a set last this long.

The only thing that worries me is, I have all CH equipment, plus a wireless mouse all USB. How many USB units are too many? I did buy a powered USB Hub to be on the safe side.

I too have the Medusa 5.1 surround sound headphones, and they're amazing. If you turn down the volume of your own engine and guns, and turn UP the volume of other engines and guns, then you can easily hear AND LOCATE the sounds of enemy planes and bullets in AH.

I can normally hear someone climbing up from my low six's blind spot well before they can start shooting, and if/when they start shooting, I can hear what side the bullets are whizzing past me on, and go the other way.

Like I said: they're amazing.
