What good either on or off? LoL..

Vsync on = safest way to play, might slow down performance slightly.
Vsync off = high fps reading, possible display tearing, possible rubber bullets.

Skuzzy , does AH2 support triple buffering? Ive found some stuff about triple buffering and issues when vsync is enabled , but this could be a resolution to low FPS in game with vsync enabled , or could just be a witch hunt . Either way it seems that it is causing problems in D3D games >>>

With nvidia cards ive been reading about triple buffering and how it doesnt work in D3D for some reason . It can cut your frame rates in half as soon as your fps come down from the max fr, and is only a problem when vsync is enabled .

It is something ive not had time to completely look at but it does seem to be a problem . Im trying some programs to force triple buffering in direct 3d to see if it helps . For guys with nvidia cards google triple buffering, direct 3d,and vsync  ,then read up . later Ruk

EDIT: i wouldnt recommend any tweakers that require .net . There are others out there that will force triple buffering in 3d3 that dont require it

Read the reviews.....................i nteresting!

D'ld Riva Tuner & dropped D3DOptimizer in systray(proggie that forces tripple buffering in D3D)& ran AHII.................

Did seem to smooth up noticably, especially in control timing but also during transitions.

Otherwise the same as before(I run w/ V-synch always on & RR override locked at 75Hz). Never really had any problems speed-wise-pretty much holds FPS at 75.

Overall a nice tool to have, but use it only if the game you're running does not support tripple buffering. If the game supports tripple buffering then don't use D3DOptimizer as the game is instructing the vid card to do this.

Hope this helps.

Edit: I checked the vid card setup in AHII 38tuk & I didn't see a check box for tripple buffering so unless AHII is written to auto select TB at the core level, it only runs double buffering.

:)
