Bomb site calibration
« on: April 07, 2007, 02:42:38 PM »
It would be nice to have both calibrated and actual speed listed in the bomb-site calibration screen.  This would eliminate having to jump back and forth between the bomb-site and E6B to make sure you have correct calibration as well as correct speed at the time of your drop.

I'd also really like to see the old calibration method return.  Under the old system I'd calibrate once, maybe twice to get it set properly.  This new system is like a crap-shoot as to whether it's going to get the speed correct.  I had to calibtate around ten times yesterday on one of my drops just to get it close and the length of time you hold the key down had seemingly no effect.  This is far worse than the old system and seems to be yet another way to discourage anyone who prefers something other than furballing.
I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.

The trick is to maintain one speed, changes in speed disrupt calibration massively.
I usually get to cruise speed/alt well before I'm near my target.
Having a steady speed will make calibration 99% accurate.
