You're right... it's not nice to judge others... Alcoholism is a devastating illness, and given what his daughter was saying on the tape I'd have to say that he probably has a significant problem.

But problems aside, being that incapacitated while caring for your minor children is not going to win him a father of the year award.

I feel bad for the guy... I feel worse for his kids.

When WAS David Hasselhoff "Father of the Year"?    Dynamite, I was raised not to kick a man while he's down.    I'm finding out that a lot of folks like to do that.  

My father is a recovering alcoholic and used to get into phyiscal fights (kicking, punching, etc) with my mother over taking my brother and I to soccer practice.    Alcoholism is a touchy subject for me.   But I'll tell you this much, my old man fell off the wagon, and picked his butt back up and is a good man.   He hasn't touched booze in over 25 years and raised a family to the best of his ability.

Recently in the attic

I am happy cause today I see my grandfathers uniform. then I see on the cap the deathhead shine and know that the pigs must soon flee then the grandson is a Sturmführer  in the SS....

Mash- In hindsight my original post paints too broad a picture of the Hoff and his career as a father.   I still feel that for the time we see him like that (on the Vid) he's not doing right by his kids, but it was wrong of me to imply that those few minutes summarize his parenting abilities.

In all sincerity I appreciate the check you put on me, and I apologize for any hurt feelings it may have caused.
