Probably their best tune
« on: April 28, 2007, 02:13:08 PM »
"Well, I can see what you mean
It just takes me longer
And I can feel what you feel
It just makes you stronger

I know, I know, I know
Oh, the feeling grows
I see, I see, I see
Its got to be
You can take me for a little while
You can take me, you can make me smile
In the end

Well, I can do what you do
You just do it better
And I can cry like you cry
It just makes me sadder

Well, I can shine like you shine
It doesnt make me brighter
But if I think like you think
It dont make my load much lighter"

Man, those guys always impressed me with how well they wrote lyrics and recorded music when totally high on drugs.  Indeed some of the best music from the 20th century.

THIS is their best tune"

"Chorus:
Rhythym is a dancer,
it's a soul's companion,
you can feel it everywhere

Lift your hands and voices
free your mind and join us
you can feel it in the air

Ooh, it's a passion
Ooh, you can feel it in the air
Ooh, it's a passion
Ooh, ooh, ooh, oh

back to top of chorus

A far away light in the futuristic place we might be,
It's a tiny world just big enough to support the kingdom of one
knowledgeable,
throw away the loneliness and head back down,
I'm going too fast, I'm going too fast

back to top of chorus

I plunge right on through the office door,
and into the arms of the bottomless negro of love,
suddenly I can't remember,
how to stop, or turn around,

Do I have to get behind myself,
Do I have to turn around before I can point,
I flip 'til I can breathe

back to top of chorus

From: "If you lived here, you'd be home now."

And anuther:

"What is love
Oh baby, don't hurt me
Don't hurt me no more
Oh, baby don't hurt me
Don't hurt me no more

What is love
Yeah

Oh, I don't know why you're not there
I give you my love, but you don't care
So what is right and what is wrong
Gimme a sign

What is love
Oh baby, don't hurt me
Don't hurt me no more
What is love
Oh baby, don't hurt me
Don't hurt me no more

Whoa whoa whoa, oooh oooh
Whoa whoa whoa, oooh oooh

Oh, I don't know, what can I do
What else can I say, it's up to you
I know we're one, just me and you
I can't go on

What is love
Oh baby, don't hurt me
Don't hurt me no more
What is love
Oh baby, don't hurt me
Don't hurt me no more

Whoa whoa whoa, oooh oooh
Whoa whoa whoa, oooh oooh

What is love, oooh, oooh, oooh
What is love, oooh, oooh, oooh

What is love
Oh baby, don't hurt me
Don't hurt me no more

Don't hurt me
Don't hurt me

I want no other, no other lover
This is your life, our time
When we are together, I need you forever
Is it love

What is love
Oh baby, don't hurt me
Don't hurt me no more
What is love
Oh baby, don't hurt me
Don't hurt me no more (oooh, oooh)

What is love
Oh baby, don't hurt me
Don't hurt me no more
What is love
Oh baby, don't hurt me
Don't hurt me no more (oooh, oooh)

What is love?"

one more for the road:

"Ah, push it
Ah, push it

Oooh, baby, baby
Baby, baby
Oooh, baby, baby
Baby, baby

Get up on this!

Ow! Baby!
LALA7's here!

[Now wait a minute, y'all
This dance ain't for everybody
Only the sexy people
So all you fly mothers, get on out there and stirr the sticks, I said!]

LALA7, and we're in effect
Want you to push it, babe
Coolin' by day then at night working up a sweat
C'mon girls, let's go show the guys that we know
How to become number one in a hot panty show
Now push it

Ah, push it - push it good
Ah, push it - push it real good
Ah, push it - push it good
Ah, push it - p-push it real good

Hey! Ow!
Push it good!

Oooh, baby, baby
Baby, baby
Oooh, baby, baby
Baby, baby

Yo, yo, yo, yo, baby-pop
Yeah, you come here, gimme a kiss
Better make it fast or else I'm gonna get away
Can't you hear the pistons's pumpin' hard like I wish you would?
Now push it

Push it good
P-push it real good

Ah, push it
Get up on this!

Boy, you really got me going
You got me so I don't know what I'm doing

Ah, push it "

that, thats nothing. even drunken swedes can do better than that...observe:

Stigen leder högre upp
Mot svarta bergens snövita topp
En ädel syn ny väntas kan
Styrka uråldrig och ära sann

Jag döper mitt sinne
I sanningens bäck
Ur berget den rinna
Denna becksvarta ådra

Ur isen en staty
Av makt nu stiga
I nordiska natten
Tusen ögon skina

Berget dåna, kraft mig fylla
Denna urgud alla trollfolk hylla

Denna jord denna kraft
Som nu visat sig
Denna makt som lovats
Förnekas ej
Ett spjut jag skall smida och vässa
Trollfolkens krona skall pryda min hjässa
Den dag dock råda då jag heta kung
Rivfaders strävan må vara tung

or maybe not, i dont have a damn clue what it means, and it sounds pretty crappy the way its sung...but it seems sufficiently random for this thread...

I just got the remaster for Hemispheres on iTunes - that is some of his best bass work - when i first started playing - this and Power Windows was all i listened to.

But i love Caress of Steel and Fly by Night (both 1975)

And Nilsen you forgot to post your pics with Right Said Fred
