Spitfire-XVI Flaps CTD
« on: April 28, 2007, 07:05:41 PM »
When I attempt to lower the flaps in the Spit-XVI I get an application error / CTD

It happens every time I do it.

It happens online and offline, airborne or on the ground.

It only happens if the flaps actually try to lower, i.e., if I’m over-speed (so that it ignores the “q” input) nothing happens.

I don’t see the problem with any of the other (6 or so) planes that I’ve tried, including the Spit-XIV.

This is in V2.10 Patch 2 (I may have seen it in the prior build too but I’m not sure).

Had the same thing happen to me twice today.  What was a bit stranger is it only happened when in a fight.  It worked fine when i flew off a rear base.  go figure..

Hardware - are you using any custom sounds?

I am... I did not change them recently and can send the file if you want.  It would be interesting to see if we are both using the same ones.  I think mine are from the Ranger soundpack but can check and provide if you want.

Good call Sudz! (and RR, Take note)

Yes, I am using custom sounds (I think they're Ranger's) and that was the problem.

I replaced the Flaps.wav in the Sounds\Spit16 folder with the one from Spit14 and that fixed it.

Thanks!
