Laser/Light XD Holster
« on: April 28, 2007, 11:15:11 PM »
Serendipity struck today at local gun show when found a nice nylon holster that fits my Springfield XD .45 ACP 4-inch barrel with the Glock laser/light attached to the pistol barrel and keeps everything within the holster protection.  (It might be a tad short for the 5-inch barrel unless you don't mind the laser/laser protuding a little bit.)

Only $15 from Liberty Sports Mfg.  However, two things need to be taken off the holster: the metal clip for attaching it to a belt (not needed, belt loops on both sides of holster), and a velcro strap (not needed, gun fits securely, and strap depresses the grip safety!).

As the vendor explained, the holster is basically a traditional square cut that is simply left open at the bottom instead of being tucked and sewn to fit barrels without accessories on them.  The XD fits securely with handle protruding at top.

This just about completes my XD accessorization.  Easy carry on separate belt with two extra magazine attachment on other hip.  Less than five pounds with 30 rounds (39 if you prefer max capacity).

Now I can just leave the laser/light (Glock 21) mounted on the XD all the time.  Unbeatable combination.   24/7 capability.  Obviously don't use it in bright sunlight but valuable in anything dimmer.

Thought I'd find the Liberty Sports Mfg link easy with Google, but no such luck.  One hit extolling an ankle holster, but can't find this exact match.  The holster came only in a plain plastic bag with no written material.  Vendor won't be back until next gun show in August.

Hope this helps somehow for those of you interested in a good comfortable holster for your laser/light mounted.  If you can find a link, please post it in this thread.

Not easy conveying complete information on this topic.  After more futile internet searching, went back to the gun show today and found apparently there is no web site either by the manufacturer or the vendor, who says he is the U.S. distributor.

So I dutifully tried to post a couple pictures to go along with the address I'm about to provide, but apparently the Aces High affiliated picture site is in limbo until the administrator completes a move.

No link and no photo, but trust me, if you need a good value nylon holster for a 4-inch barrel XD or equivalent with laser/light mounted on the barrel, this holster is great at only $15.

Sorry, already have resized and reworked these photos several times, but obviously I'm still not magna cum laude.  I'm grateful for any photo capability here, but I'm also spoiled by programs that are much more user friendly in accomplishing "simple" tasks.

Kindly indulge me and just use the percentage size feature at lower right to optimize the photos for your viewing pleasure.

If you're at all interested in a good value laser/light holster, this is well worth your while.

I clicked on the pictures and they resized smaller.

Hmm, I think I overestimated the interest in and market for holsters that let pistols carry mounted laser/lights.   Might have emphasized the XD aspect too much -- the holster is generic and should be a good fit for similar size pistols.

Oh well, this now enters the historical archives of Aces High for next generation pistol laser/light packers.

Obviously would have helped if I had been more efficient in posting perfect pictures from first fumbling attempts anticipating acquisitions (p3f3a3).
