I have reached a point I never thought I would...
« on: May 02, 2007, 01:32:34 PM »
I have come to the realization that if I get a C- in Constatutional Law II, I will still receive my law degree.

I have a job lined up after school. I still have to pass the bar. But I can get a C- in Con Law II, and not lose any sleep over it.

That's mighty liberating.

I was grade obsessed in college. I wanted to make sure I could get into a good grad school. Of course it was easy to be grade obsessed when you care about the material. Con-Law II on the other hand, is possibly the least interesting course I have ever taken in my life, which is a real shame because the professor is a nice enough guy, and he sounds like he could narrate civil war documentaries for PBS.

Anyhow, it's 1:32 PM here in Dallas, and I have a final at 6:00 pm. I'm going to go nutts though, and aim for a C.

When you're in the exam I suggest you spell it "Contitutional".  ;)

I remember well arriving home after handing in my final thesis for my undergrad degree.

I sat down, let out a big sigh and then my dog started to bark.  That was followed by a comotion at the front door and when I went to investigate I found that my dog had bitten some woman delivering flyers.  She had opened the plexiglass door and tried to slip the flyer in while the dog was going bananas on the other side...in full view of her.

As soon as she hit the latch he had jumped up and pushed the door open and bit the girl on her backside as she was trying to run away.

Cost me a couple of grand and my dog was almost put down because of that.

Stress to calm to mega stress.

This wasnt the course where shredding was talked about was it.
Forgot who said this while trying to take a base, but the quote goes like this. "I cant help you with ack, Im not in attack mode" This is with only 2 ack up in the town while troops were there, waiting. The rest of the town was down.

Maybe it's just me, but considering the Constitution is the single most important political and legal document in this country, and outlines what this country stands for, and how the different branches of government interact with each other, I'd think that someone looking to get their law degree would show a little more interest in the subject.

Forgive me if that seems a little harsh but I haven't had any coffee today and I'm a little on edge.

Hornet,

The class covering those topics was Con-Law I.

Con-Law II covers the various mechanisms by which the Judiciary usurps power from the Legislature. If you aren't a big fan of the Supreme Court, it's not a very interesting class. I'm much more interested in the more practicle side of my legal education.

My wife on the other hand loves this crap.

Gotcha. Like I said, not trying to be a pain in the butt. Congrats on getting through it all though. I'd never be able to do what you've done. I can't stand classrooms. I learn better hands on.

Ill tell you just like I tell my kids

If all you do is aim for the lowest
your sure to fail

Always reach for the highest star
You may not always get it. But you will ed up with alot more then if you just settle right from the start

And

I'll accept a "C" in the first semester
A "C" in the last semester is inexcusable
Grades are only allowed to go up. not down.

When it comes to schoolwork I borrow a line from "The Cane Mutiny"
"Excellence is standard.
Standard is sub standard
And sub standard will NOT be tolerated under any circumstances"

Show up on this board reporting a "C" and we will force you to spend some sexy time with these two

(Shaddap Meatwad. We already know you would "hit em")
LMAO
Death is no easy answer
For those who wish to know
Ask those who have been before you
What fate the future holds
It ain't pretty

Perhaps if more lawyers understood Con - Law and more importantly the contitution, they'd stop abusing it.

Nah wait, that's really not likely. Lawyers and legislators not abusing the constitution. Nope that will never happen, darnit.  :furious

Congrats on passing.
