How about a rescue function for pilots
« on: May 19, 2007, 05:22:48 PM »
To the guys at Hitech Creations,
First off, let me say thanks for having a great game to play and the recent upgrades to the graphics has been great!
I have something for an addition to game play that the people that I've talked to about it have agreed it would be a cool addition. Every time I get shot down and bail or ditch or just plain run out of gas I think 'Wouldn't it be nice if someone like my squad mates could rescue me?'. And that's when I remembered those videos of pilots getting rescued by the PBY's in the pacific. Pilots not only got shot down, they also got rescued.
So I thought it would be cool, fun, and beneficial to every ones score if, when a pilot bailed or ditched with kills, then someone could up in a PBY, PT, or LVT if at sea, and the C-47, M3, jeep, or even one of the tanks nearby if on land, and as long as the rescuer is within 100 yds and stopped he could pickup the pilot just like supplies. Then that pilot could act as a gunner until RTB.
Of course you would have to add the PBY which could also act possibly as a troop/suppy carrier. The thing would be that it could spawn like a PT at sea and also on a runway and could only deliver troops/supplies stationary on the ground or at the beach, like for a port capture.
And the rescuer could earn points for a basic rescue but more points for a rescue of a pilot with kills. (I.E. The more kills or potential points for the downed pilot, the more rescue points.) And that way a downed pilot could keep from losing the points earned in the sky.
The same could work for GV personnel that bailed from a severely damaged vehicle. In other words, if a player can be standing, or swimming, on the battlefield, then he could be rescued.
I'm going to post this in the forums to see what kind of response it gets.
Please consider this for I think that it would lend to a more fun and realistic game play. Thank you, PSTLPETE

I still think you have to be a member on the boards for a year before you can post in the "wishlist" fourm. That and when you sign up you get sent to a page that has

   USE THE SEARCH BUTTON!!

flashing, and when they post for the first 50 posts when they try to post it comes up again asking. "Did you use the search button?" yes/no if they hit no it wont let them post.:aok  That might stop all the pilot rescue, jets, subs, and nooks.

very cool idea, in fact ive also toyed w/ the idea.  I even think you gave a good way for implementing it as far as perks n such.   A good idea that i think could bring alot to the game.  Hitech should toss the concept around a bit.

If it's truly the first honest post attempt from pswank35, then I apologize.

BUT, between the name itself, post number 1, and the infestation of Shades lately, and being a topic that has been brought up several times this past month by low numbered post accounts..... I would not put any money on this not being a shade or troll attempt.

Yes this was my first post. AND, it OBVIOUSLY wasn't an origional one. :O   But lets be honest, just because it says I'm a junior member all the seniors think I must be a dweeb.  But from reading the post board I don't really see a lot of originality coming from the senior members either.

:huh Senior 1 'What did he say?!'
:huh Senior 2 'I don't know, I couldn't hear him.'
:huh Senior 3 'I couldn't either. Your gonna have to speak up sonny!'
:huh Senior 4 'I think he was bagging on us!!!!'

Senior 1,2,3,4, :cry :cry :cry :cry

Skuzzy's IP banned folks before for carrying on both sides of a conversation before. You wanna talk to yourself, don't do it here was the comment he made.

Not that I'm implying anything here...
