Lol.....we (yaks) said samething, except we said go south.....but we had a few wounded so we all stayed together and died.  :(

It was insane!  We as a squad will learn from this.  (:

Jeez all yer mates were there - right behind me, nice and neat :)

I get really really tired of selective realism disguised as a desire to make bombers easier to kill.

I see from my film we were a part of that bus. The mission was a mixed bag of fighters--Spits, Yaks and Laggs--headed down to to as much damage as we could inflict on A54. The Laggs were the strikers with the others as sweepers. I led a flight of Yaks that were supposed to be in the front but we couldn't keep up. MGD ordered me to take up station on the right of the main group and we sighted you as you passed them. I called your flight of 190s passing the main group on an opposite heading at their 3 o'clock low as you were out at about our 2 o'clock. Forward  Spit sweepers came in behind you as you passed our Yaks on the right. Big fight ensued and, well, you know how that went. I took one scalp in that mess.

After that little speedbump we lit up 54 as best we could with the few bombs the Laggs could carry and then strafing causing major damage to the smaller strats but only softening the hangars and most of us returned to rearm and make a second run at the place. We did get back into the area without contact initially. Longdist had my guys take up station on the South side of A54 as we figured that group of 190s that nullified Dantoo's strike on the city would be heading up that way before long. Sure enough within a couple of minutes they did. Big big furball of all fighter types. Looked like the numbers were pretty even by then with both sides down to about 30 or so. Bet just about all of them were at 54. With everyone milling about I couldn't get a shot in on anyone. Eventually I took a burst from a 190 that removed my horizontal stabs and I floated to the ground like a leaf.

Was a fun frame. Great fights on both runs.
