Big Week
« on: June 15, 2007, 06:21:08 PM »
Has there ever been a re-run of the 'Big Week' scenario that was run back when I was a CM (end of 2001 I think).

I was thinking that with CT supposedly on its way this year, it might be get people in the mood in the autumn?

I think that would be great.  I participated in Big Week in Air Warrior and really liked it.  We thought it was a big deal to have 100 in the arena back then.  I can imagine how much better it would be nowadays.  :aok

The game dynamics have changed since then.

How you remember is different from how it would play out now.

Now we have 3x bombers performation, fighters can't open fire on bombers until twice as close (no more "hit bubble" coding).

Bombers would take losses, sure, but fighters would lose just as many. That's the problem with recycling very old scenarios. You've gotta adjust them for the times. Make tweaks, etc.

EDIT: As long as it's 4 frames I'm all for it. I don't like 3 frames -- too short!

I Dunno.. (3 Frame) Husky has provided each side with a certain level of victory in 2 frames. It's time to take it to the wire!

I also think a Big Week scenario would be interesting. Too bad we can't get the numbers.
Big Week
(see Feb 20 and on)

Or maybe a "Big B" scenario with targets in and around Berlin.
Big B
(see March 4 and on)

Best Regards

It turns out that the next scenario is a Big Week-like event (large streams of escorted heavy bombers, going for German targets, opposed by the focused might of the Luftwaffe):
