Two words to describe most of this thread;

American Thugs.
A Rook who first flew 09/26/03 at the age of 13, has been a GL in 10+ Scenarios, and was two-time Points and First Annual 68KO Cup winner of the AH Extreme Air Racing League.

Okay, a word from an Icelandic thug here ;)

I think the name should rest the same, for the honour of those who fell on that island in some month of 1945.
And to the Americans anyway, this will alwys be IWO.
It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)

The USSR lost some 22 millions in WW2 AFAIK.
Most were really NOT lost getting to Berlin.

Yeager, we lost far more soldiers we crossed the Rhine into Germany than we did at Iwo Jima.  Do you think we should still have possession of Deutschland?

Man, looking at the casualty figures for WWII battles reinforces the fact that this was a REAL war.

You earned, contributed or sacrificed nothing and are just a carpetbagger on the coattails of a different generation.

back to your hole :rolleyes:

Do you think we should still have possession of Deutschland?
====
Did we claim the Deutschland as sovereign american territory after winning the battle?  Although I wonder why american soldiers are still in the Deutschland, sixty plus years later.

This thread is begging the question: If the island and its name are so damn important to you people why the hell did you sell it to the Japanese? American thugs? No. American whiners’ more like it.

I will write a poem about Iwo Jima and post it here later.

Or maybe some Haiku, wouldn't that be fitting :eek:
