The only mistake I see in the author's facts is the mention that the AK-47 is essentially a copy of the SG-44. While the rifles look similar, the firing mechanisms are different.
Perhaps the author was talking about the concept of an automatic rifle which fired sub-rifle sized ammunition with a 20-30 round magazine. If this is the case, then his statement is true and does not contain any mistakes. Then the AK-47 and SG-44 are essentially the same.
And just for the record, the Germans had it right with squad size. An NCO can only control 4-6 guys in combat, not the 10-12 like American Army squads had. The Marines also recognized this, and split their squads into four man fire teams.
