Ok, I wanna start out by saying Im not a subscriber anymore, And havent been for some time, So I dont know if anything like this has been implimented, or if theres already a topic on it. Please forgive me if this has already been addressed.
With that said, When I did play, I was really excited at the aspect of a large organized formations from missions and whatnot, But the mission really doesnt live up to its potential in my opinion. I would love to see a room, that has a seperate game setting, that is focused on Mission sittuations.
My idea would play out somthing like this. The game begins with planes already in the air, in formation, And given an objective (ex. Bombing runs, Fighter patrols) While takeoff does add realism, The organisation of the country members would be near impossible unless They were started in formation. This also adds to quickness, For shorter games.
While the veterans of the game are content with flying for 20 minutes before being able to fight, (in my opinion) this can be very discouraging to newer players. I spent alot of time while learning, spending a large time commitment flying to an area with enemy, then I would be shot down before I got any real dogfighting experience. I think this style of game would help newer players learn how to fly, and ease the steep learning curve of the game. But Im begining to stray from my point.
I think this style of game would be best played as a 1 death game. The game would allow for large skirmishes, without a long fly time before hand. While the game Im proposing takes away from realism, The idea of large missions, where bombing runs are ambushed by fighters, Or large skirmishs between fighters, Or even major assults on carriers, is very exciting to me.
