Payin your Tax's???

Lazs et al.

at this juncture they only way would be revolution.  as with most of us americans, I'm far too fat, dumb and prosperously happy to be involved in any revolutionary activities.  the only issue which would cause me to rebel would be an attempt to take my firearms or my supply of ammunition.  I tax myself and generously support the NRA to help insure our collective right and those of our progeny.

we have a system of government that is far better than any other out there, inspite of what the europeans think or type on this board.

on a personal level I make far too much of my income from homeland security mandated perimeter security and access control work at locations such as airline caterers, flower importers, exporters, customs bonded secure areas and other service providers for MIA, FTL, OPF, the port of miami and port everglades aside from direct work from the counties for me to be angry at taxes.

I gladly, joyfully, gleefully pay my full tax I don't fudge one bit and when I pay my tax quarterly I do so with a sense of priviledge and gratitude.

the majority of the money we are taxed comes back to us in one form or another.  the best example is that the islamofacists are busy jihadding in iraq and afghanistan and not on our doorstep because our taxes are funding our all volunteer armed forces in these less than hospitable places.  my taxes help fund the fight that our heroic young citizens are fronting in these far away places and I am saddened that my only participation can be with money.  I wish I were twenty years younger.

the downward slide to socialism is inevitable.  it began with the oyster bay roosevelt at the turn of the last century and once pandora's box was opened there was no way to close the lid.  we will see socialized medicine, more entitlement programs and further erosion of our personal liberties and it will come about because the soft sheep in our society will vote it to be so. this in turn will mean further taxation on the individual.

you must understand that at the end of it all we will each bear a portion of the tax burden irrespective of how it's colored.  if the income tax were to be abolished the same amount of taxation on us all will emerge with a different lable to replace it.

the only way to avoid taxation is to become an outlaw and rebel against the very society that brings you all the ease from with which you live.  so no, I don't get it I don't understand how on the one hand you can accept the benefits of living in this society and then on the other hand refuse to pay your way.  maybe you are like other segments of our society and expect a handout? a free ride at the expense of others?

face it we aren't the same group of people that founded the country and it's infantile to believe that any one us would be willing to endure the hardship of life those folks were subjected to in those times.

but storch... your taxes are going up every year.

Does that mean that 10 years ago you were taxed to little?   Does that mean you will be happy no matter what they go to?

certainly everyone has a different idea of how big an intrusive they are willing to let the government get but...

If it grows every year... at some point everyone will be unhappy.

It is like our laws... we have so many that I doubt that even one of us can get through the day without breaking one or more.  it is hardly possible... as government grows... so will the amount of laws broken every single day.

The 55 mph speed limit and prohibition are examples... people ignored the bad laws to the point that the government could do nothing but get rid of the laws... they could not enforce them.

That is the dirty little secret.. we are ruled only because we allow it... with the internet it will get harder and harder for them...  people constantly post ways to get around their laws.

lazs,

I pay more in taxes today than I earned ten years ago.  the more I pay in taxes = the more I've earned.  my goal is to pay $200k in taxes one day.

you don't get it do you?

No.. you don't get it.   I am not saying that you are paying more because you are earning more.

I am saying that you are paying more of your income every year.   Why were you paying too little before?   At what point will you be paying too much?

All of us are paying a higher percent of our income no matter what bracket we are in.
