I think it's alot better as that particular bird has alot of unique
history. Sold to the Brits as a B-24A, never made it across the pond.
Damaged in a landing accident, repaired and converted to an LB-30
by Consolidated at company expense.
After the war, was operated by Continental Can at Morristown, NJ
, where it was given a "radar nose". I feel
it's really awesome that they're spending so much effort getting her
back close to original condition.
For the back story, I think it was Warbird's Digest that ran a big
story on her. I think it's kind of cool that a buddy of mine's dad was
a mechanic on it while at Continental Can. In fact, Jim has
some sweet shots of it blown up into posters in his office.
