Me and my father want to go to the coast of Texas and do some fishing. Is there anyone here that runs or knows a good guide service that will take care of us? There will be 3 people and 1 3yr old maybe. If anyone has any info please let me know. Thanks

Well...

Where are you going?  There's a pretty fair amount of coastline there.

I just got back.. Save your money or go offshore.. The Bays are filled with fresh water. My brother is friends with many guides and we had four different guides show us around. They all said its been bad for the past 3 months.

Red...I haven't Salt Water fished since the day I left the U.S. Navy.

I really have no idea who is a good guide there...but if you type in your google search Texas Fighing Guides Saltwater Corpus you'll prolly get a BUNCH of em.

Then Price and date is really all ya need to think of.

Alot of the fishing sites for the coast have fishing reports of how the fish are biting and what's being caught.

Thats about all I know about it.

My Salt Water fishing was done off of a Frigate or a dock in some place or another. But when I left the navy , I said SCREW THE OCEAN....I seen enough of it from the persian gulf to the caribbean to the North Atlantic.

Best I can do for ya.

Surf around the internet for marinas there in Corpus.  Get a look at the fishing reports and see which boats have been out regularly and bringing in the fish.  My father and I go down to the OBX every year for fishing out in the gulf stream.  Dolphin, Tuna, Wahoo (my personal favorite to eat) and billfish and even sharks are all there for the catching when trolling.  I know Corpus is about as good as it gets down there for fishing but don't have any firsthand experience.

Like RedTop said either look around on the net or at least call down there and ask the various marinas about getting on a make-up charter or who the best boat is to take out on a scheduled charter.  If you can schedule with the boat all the better because they then get more money than if it's a makeup done through the marina ;)
