Game Play Downhill???
« on: August 21, 2007, 11:24:31 AM »
The game play in Aces High has gone 2 the toilet. The score Nazi's, the timid dogfights, the "ADULTS " <---risky theme-- that treat younger players like they are a piece of crap, it's really just went down hill.

I don't get why players have to make a big deal out of a younger player in this game. The whole reason any of us play this game is to escape the reality of our everyday situations and have it just like it was when we were kids.My father  is a Marine(Parris Island class of 62) and i grew up watching black & white combat footage so playing this game takes me back to when i was kid having GIJoe battles and not caring about anything in the world.

Why do grown folks HATE on KIDS in Aces High so much??

They are easy kills to pad your score.

They remind us of our youth.

They really don't understand much of what some adults are saying to them.

Yesterday my son had an incident with soome other players.Really it was quite disturbing to say the least since a AH Trainer was involved. This event is what has started this thread for i want to know why, why can't people just log into a GAME, and play that game????

why must they torment and hurt the feelings of young children playing this GAME??????

My son has been watching me play this game since Feb. 2001 and he really enjoys it, and he has a total blast when he is online.Because of the Adult behavior in this GAME as of late i have showed him how to take screen shots and roll film and he has caught quite a few " ADULTS" and we have reported them and they are being dealt with.

I just wish this crap would stop.

Act like "ADULTS" for a change.

This post is not intended as a troll as many of you would like to think. This is a serious thread about a very serious topic.

Thank  You

Shut it, you are one of the biggest instigators in this game.  Teach him to squelch and detune.  :aok

Sweet2th, I've never seen you in game under "1HungLo" or "Sweet2th".   So obviously you hide behind shades accounts or you "rarely flew".

I cannot speak for the other's, but your post is in direct contrast to your posts in the past.    So based on that, yeah.....you're a hypocrite.

It's "Can't we all just LEARN to get along?" Get it right, please. Sheeeeesh! :)

Sweet2th, you're talking trash about any trainer. We teach people to fly in the TA and go so far as to stop interruption and disturbing behavior in the area. In other words, we enforce the rules of the arena so other people can learn in peace. Otherwise, everyone gets a fair chance to learn. There are lots of young kids that have come up in the game over the years. Some of them gang up together and go play "WAR" at some other airfield and have a great time. We even have an 8 year old, yeah, he just had a birthday a month or so ago that unless you heard him talk you'd think of him as any other player. They're doing what kids do and enjoy themselves. They are well balanced, good kids that are gonna go far in life. In the last few days I've only had two kids that were problematic;

One said he wanted everyone to tell him not to shoot instead of him having to ask and get ok to attack. I flat out told him that was not going to happen as it's against the rules of the arena and ended up warning him 2X before he left on his own accord.

The 2nd was probably 10 or so because he either asked "why" or "I don't want to do that" every 30 seconds. Anytime someone gave him help he'd ignore the advice and ask another question unrelated to the subject at hand. A lot of time and help was expended by a trainer and other folks for someone who wasn't listening. Now an hour goes by. No progress. There are many other people waiting in line to get help. 5 other people could have been helped. They actually want to learn, not just here themselves talk.
At some point we have to move on to help the many and not babysit the one. Baby sitting is your job not the trainers. Let me say one more thing. We get adults who have never flown before, just like the kids. Some of those folks take 20 times for something to sink in. But once they get it, they know it. Just like the kids. Both get frustrated from time to time but the trainers sit there and go over it and over it until everyone understands and they're working off the same page. They end up being darn good flyers and have alot of fun in this game.

So, if one of those kiddies got chastized by a trainer which one was yours?

The 1st who doesn't care for rules and is content to break them until warned a few times?
If the 2nd kiddie is yours then what role do you actually play in his development? You say you've been flying for years? And your child  knows nothing? He doesn't want to listen to anyone? Needs a baby sitter? Wait! Am I now attacking you, saying you're not a good father? NO! But I am saying as having been a trainer for years I can safely say there is not one trainer in AH2 that is not honorable in his intentions to come into this game to help anyone in need of it, regardless of who they are or they're age.

It's easy to criticize anyone. Without specifics it has litle value. But it could be a nice troll. There are also 10-20 people in the TA almost 24 hours a day so it's fairly easily to ask anyone for the truth before coming to the boards to accuse anyone. Let me say one more thing. We get adults who have never flown before, just like the kids. Some of those folks take 20 times for something to sink in. But once they get it, they know it. Just like the kids. Both get frustrated from time to time but the trainers sit there and go over it and over it until everyone understands and they're all working off the same page. They end up being darn good flyers and have alot of fun in this game.

Lastly, until HTC gives me marching orders to get milk and cookies so I can babysit the kiddies being dropped off while Mom goes shopping I plan to continue training people who want to learn this game.

Yeah, wow, I had him pegged at a ritalin-deprived 14 years old, max.

I guess the term 'squeaker'  has less to do with age than maturity.

Wow.

(wall o' text deleted.  wouldn't help anyway)

it's not the kids, it's how they were raised.

I have zero issues w/ kids flying.

I DO have issue w/ the attitude/actions of some of this most recent crop.

Their parents have failed them (and society) miserably.

If you kid had a run-in w/ a Trainer, i'm betting they were out of line.

Nobody just "torments" squeakers for no reason.  (let alone one of the fabulous AH Trainers.  that alone shoulda "red flagged" what you kid was telling you.  methinks you didn't get the whole story of what happened)

You reap what you sow.

I don't know, I had a pretty good time online last night.  Could have used a few more kills a little quicker.  But overall I was satisfied.  No problem finding a furball.

The squelch feature works just fine whenever it's needed.
