It's been said we have three brains, one cobbled on top of the next. The stem is first, the reptilian brain; then the mammalian cerebellum; finally the over developed cerebral cortex.  They don't work together in awfully good harmony - hence ax murders, mobs, and socialism.

yep... it just takes a long time to say what I have been saying.... voting for a democrat insures that you will have more unconstitutional anti second amendment laws.

Even richardson.. the only really pro gun democrat... even he voted for the "assault rifle" ban when it came down to it...  He couldn't buck the party.

It doesn't matter what a democrat says... he will vote with his party.

The same can be said for republicans of course but here... the choice is better.. the party won't come up with anti gun bills to begin with.

for instance... bush knew he would never even have to look at an extension of the assault rife bill with a republican controlled congress... It just never came up... sure.. ALL the democrats got in line and tried to get it on his desk to sign but.... it just died with a majority of republicans.

If the menopausal sewing circle of nanny socialist democrats control both congress and the pres... every unconstitutional gun law that comes down the pike will get rubber stamped.

For all of you who value the 2nd amendment.  Ron Paul wishes to keep your right to bear arms as free as originally intended.  Dr. Paul is a constitutionalist and believes strictly in defending the constitution which includes the right to bear arms.

Here's the scary path we seem to be on:

Dems want to take your guns away.

BUT, it's a good thing the GOP isn't anti-gun because the police state they are creating makes citizen ownership of guns even more of an imperative.

There's no winning with current crop of front runners.

Ron Paul wants to do away with everything that is making this nation a police state.  He voted against the war in Iraq, he voted against the patriot act and if elected plans to take us out of Iraq and plans to abolish the patriot act.  He also wants to get rid of as much government spending as possible.  He is more like a libertarian and believes in the Austrian school of economics.  He believes that our federal government has become a big uncontrollable beast and that our founding fathers never envisioned a government this large and that we should never half to spend half of what we earn in taxes.  He also plans to abolish the IRS and get rid of federal income taxes.

After the last 50 years of this nations existence, all of the failed social programs, wars, social security that's getting out of control, the loss of the American ideal of not engaging in preemptive war I'm really ready to have some change in this nation.  I think Ron Paul would be the man that can lead us down that path.

I said "front runners".

I commend Ron Paul for his libertarianism (though he's a little "out there" for a libertarian - he needs a better grasp on economic principles).

But there's no chance in hell he will get the GOP nod - he's too far from the base (heck, he's not even on the same planet as the base).

It's the ideals of the two bases that is the problem. Socialism vs. Puritanism reinforced by the state. Both are "more government is the solution" ideologues now.

Dems are more government helping people with problems the government has no business in.

GOP is more laws + more police with more powers to abuse enforcing laws.

Dems: Stop trying to help me and stop taking my money to give to people you say I should be helping.

GOP: Stop trying to protect me from every evil and stop trying to define evil for me.

Paul couldn't have been considered or noticed by the public without getting on the GOP campaign wagon.

notice that libertarians never run as democrats.

samiam is correct but there is a difference.. the republicans are more into a police state but even that is less intrusive in your life than socialism.

The republicans are still 100% better for us than the democrats.

Interesting website.  It would have a lot more power if it were standardized from candidate to candidate.
