Musical close to or in Fort Worth
« on: September 15, 2007, 05:42:44 PM »
Hi guys,

I have been trying to find a musical in the DFW area to take my wife and step daughter to that falls between the dates of November 7th and 15th of this year. I can find some before and after but not during that time frame.

I was wondering if anyone knew of a musical in that time frame that perhaps was out of the DFW area. Preferably within a 75 mile radius of DFW.

The reason I need it in that particular time frame is because my step daughter will only be here during that time. She returns home on the 15th.

Thanks in advance.

That is the Opera. Thanks for the links but I am looking for a musical instead of opera. No, they are not the same. Preferably a Musical Comedy. There is a bit of a language barrier that prevents choosing an opera.  A musical can be followed easier and generaly has some great music.

Thanks again Raider14.

Should be a good one but it runs from September 28th to October 21st. Not in the time frame I was looking for.

Thanks for trying though. :)

BPH November Event Calendar

Sinbad on 11/15 might be a nice choice

When is your wife and family finally moving up from..Argentina? (isn't it?)

Must be tough doing the long distance thing for so long.

I did a quick google and Dallas doesn't look like the place for musicals dude.  :(

Bath House Cultural Center
521 E Lawther Dr
Dallas, TX 75218
http://bathhousecultural.com/performing.html
I don't see anything on their schedule past the end of September, so you may want to go back to that site in a few weeks to check.

Rosewood Center for Family Arts
5938 Skillman St
Dallas, TX 75231
http://www.dct.org/
(looks like their break is exactly the time period you're looking to fill)
when you get to the page, select performances, it will bring you to their schedule.

Dallas Theater Center
3636 Turtle Creek Blvd
Dallas, TX 75219
(214) 526-8210
http://www.dallastheatercenter.org/Page.aspx?Doc_ID=995
http://www.dallastheatercenter.org/CurrentSeason.aspx?P_ID=5761
first link is their main page, second link is their schedule. Too bad again, though, their break is right at the time that your wife & stepdaughter will be here.

This is just a link to the Theater Arts & Culture events in and around Dallas Fort Worth (actually for any city, but this link has Dallas plugged in). That would be a good place to check for updates as the time gets closer.

This Murder Mystery Dinner Theater looks like awesome fun though:

Probably wouldn't be a good idea, but maybe down the road :D

Actually just my wife is moving up here. She is scheduled to arrive on the 7th of November.  She is moving up here from Brasilia, Brasil. and it is tough doing the long distance thing but we do have a light at the end of the tunnel. Also we talk to each other a lot on MSN messenger and write to each other every day.

Her youngest daughter, 29 and mother of my wife's first grandchild, is accompanying her on the trip up here. She'll stay about a week and return on the 15th. We were hoping to find a musical to take her to while she was here. She enjoys them as much as her mother does.

I did some googleing myself and that is why I asked about something perhaps out of the DFW area that wouldn't be too far to drive to.

Thanks all for all the links and help. It is appreciated.

Mark, this looks tailor fit for you:

Casa Manana Presents: Man of LaMancha at Bass Performance Hall
November 6 – 11, 2007
Downtown Ft. Worth
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.
