I was just looking over the list of request, for side assignments and aircraft choice, on the AH Events site.
A lot of you CO's (and / or XO's) are putting down "whatever you need", "Just glad to help", "anything", Etc.
I appreciate the fact that you guys are trying to be easy going and flexible with your request, but you need to realize that squads that put down "Anything you want" (or words to that effect) may actually get "What ever
WE want".
Recently I have received some complaints that, "Our squad is flying bombers to much." or "Why have we been Axis four times in a row?", only to go to the Events site and see that squad requested "Just happy to help." We try to do our best to mix things up with squads and not let them get stuck in a rut, but one of the tools we use to do this is
your request.
So....... If your squad does not want to be Axis in the next event, please but down "Allied". If you don't want to fly bombers again, request some fighters, on the Events site.
You will
not always get what you requested, but you will stand a much better chance of not getting the same thing four times in a row.
