wtf happened to MTV?
« on: October 05, 2007, 03:59:51 PM »
last nite I was channel surfing and stopped at MTV and what the hell.. a broke back mountain dating show was on! I know I'm getting old but what happened to the music videos?

So I started going through the channels some more looking for the Bluegrass Music Awards on CMT and found a reality show about the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders.

I want my MTV and CMT back...this country is going to hell in a hand basket.
Lighten up Francis

MTV hasn't shown music videos in years.  Try MTV2
CMT, still shows music videos occasionally, try GAC.

vh1classic.com is a good site to kill time  :)

As for music videos, boy those are hard to find these days.  The VH1 offerings are every bit as lame

Don't. I get M2 and it shows nothing but hours upon hours of selected programming like Road Rules or Pimp my Ride. I actually think they now have M3 which shows nothing but videos.

MTV was destroyed and is now ran by all the corporate goons which own the media. Also, Videos don't sell as much as they used too. They can put a celebrity/musician into a commercial or a television show and make more money than they ever could with a music video. Children and adults with underdeveloped minds eat it up when they see someone dressed to the nines in their own line of clothing/jewelry/perfume/shoes/video games etc...etc...

Its a shame how they destroyed it. Now the internet has replaced MTV as the purveyor of Music both mainstream and independent and the world is a much better place.
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

Lol, I remember watching the Buggles as they performed Video Killed the Radio Star during the very first MTV video bradcast in history!  I think it was 1980 or something.

MTV has sucked for a long time now.
