Ok, well I have simply fell in love with the 47th Fighter Squadron, 15th Fighter Group skin, and want it badly. So I looked for it in game. Not there. Looked under the download section here; not there. Finally found the ah-skins.com site after a long long look, and found it there. Downloaded it, and found it to be a .bmp file. Lute was helping me and let me know that it has to be a .res file, and then went on to say if its not available from the downloads section, it can't be used in game.

Is this true? I don't see why it wouldn't we able to be used in game. It is a historic skin, and I have seen it used in a film (that I am 99 percent sure was MA footage), so I am confused as to why I can't get it in the game.

Am I just missing something here, as in how to change it to a .res/install it? I really really really want this skin. Or is it waiting for approval? which I don't think so. If that is the case, doesn't that only take like a week?

Donkey you can just click auto download skins

It downloads all skind in background while you are online.

Best way IMO..

Here is another place to get APPROVED skins "Click Here" They do a great job keeping up with HTC and the skin releases.

You are only allowed to use the approved skins on line. HTC does this to maintain control over the game. They want only historic skins. They really don't want to see "pink" goons , or florescent green tanks and stuff.

All submitted skins have to have proof they were used in the war, not stuff they used after the war to make them stand out, or "new owners" use to spiff them up for the air shows.

Yeah I have the option checked, and I believe that all of the skins have downloaded for me.

The skin in question that I want is this one.

The 47th FS, 15th FG one. American fighter skins, top of the 8th page. When I download it and open up the file, there is a p51.bmp and a .txt file. I don't know how to install this skin, because when I drop it into my skins folder it doesn't show up in game. Plus, I was talking with someone, and they said that it has to be a .res file, not a .bmp. He went on to say that if it wasn't downloadable off this site under the downloads section/skins, it couldn't be used it game. So I am not sure about anything right now.

So any more help is appreciated.

you have been informed correctly, you will NOT be able to view that skin in the game ON-LINE. The link I put in the post about shows you pictures of the skins avalible for the pony.

As for using it off-line, follow the procedure for Making Custom Skins and replace the mustang skin in that one with the one you downloaded.

Ok, thanks for that information.

So, to be able to use it in game (MA's, etc), would someone just have to make the skin and send it in to be reviewed, etc (since it was a historic skin), or would they just have to review that skin, or how would that work? I think its already made, since you can use it off line, but then that confuses me as to why it wouldn't have been reviewed and able to be used online?

Anyway to clear this up? I really want that skin lol:aok
