We're looking for pilots/squads who like flying (or escorting) the American heavies in realistic, high altitude close formation missions.  Currently the following squads get together every Sunday at 7:30 Eastern to fly a weekly realistic 8th Air Force style bomber mission.
• 78th (B-17 & Escort)
• 484th Bomb Group (B-24)
• 4th Fighter Group (Escort)
• Canadian Eagles Fighter Squadron (Escort)

As the arena/map situation varies wildly from day to day, we check the arenas about 20 minutes before launch and then let everyone know what arena/team we will be flying for.  Ideally we try fly all three countries in a rotation, but it really depends on what shape the arenas are in.

The missions are long, normally lasting for about 90 minutes, and bombing strategic targets doesn't make a huge difference in the game.  But for Buff Drivers, being part of a large formation of bombers and hitting a strategic target can be a lot of fun.

Any chance you could do these Friday evenings or anytime on Saturdays (Day or Evening) or a few hours earlier on Sundays? I have flown with you all many times on these and it is rare that I can make Sunday Evenings.

Just wondering if my schedule is the strange one or are most people in a similar situation were Friday evenings or Saturdays work better for long sessions online.

Later,
KayBay

Have you ever had any large air-to-air combat experiences?

Is it all planned out so that it is CERTIAIN we will run into any opposing forces?  Or do you just bomb, and hope somebody on the opposing team is willing to get a group of people to attack us?

If there are attacks on the buff group every sunday, well then I'll be willing to fly with you.  However...  My computer are t3h cr@p right now...  So we'll see.

When football season is over, I'll be able to fly with you.
Time's fun when you're having flies.

Our goal is to always see combat.  The trick is to select a target and plan a route that will A. give the enemy enough time to see that there is a strat raid going on and intercept it, but B. not so much time that it becomes a slaughter.

For me, a 20% loss rate on the bombers is about right.  The escorts will have had lots of action, yet most of the bomber guys will get to bring at least one aircraft home.

And yes, we almost always have good running battles.

The "running fight" is one of my favorite missions. I look forward to these Sunday night runs in much the same way as the DGS scenario.

Hmm, 4:30 Pacific time.

You still on for this Sunday? DGS Division 1 might want to have a reunion.
Easy in-game again.

If my computer is decent, I'll try and make it.
