Kurt, wouldn't that be the CiCs job of communicating with the squads in his or her charge so that this does not occur?
That is the single biggest thing that FSO falls short on. The people that are leading the frames stuff out the orders then file and forget. Come on, Stimulate, Invigorate, Motivate, make em Want to flock to your banner!
Hope this helps, if not, disregard.
Hey, lets not forget, I'm undefeated as a CIC... I don't write cruddy plans on napkins Roc.. (well, I did do that one time, but we still won the frame).
All I'm saying is that if I had a couple squads assigned to a plane and those two squads came up short, we're looking at penalties EVEN THOUGH the plan clearly had enough planes (even at minimums) to cover the requirement.
And I'm not putting the weight on the CM Staff to make FSO fun... What I'm saying is if you are going to add a rule, add a rule that works.
I'm not concerned about my frame... I'm just telling you that at some point in the future (my frame or someone elses) this exact situation I've detailed for you is going to happen. And when it does you're going to pull victory from a deserving team because 'Squad X' didn't show up...
Frankly, thats a bad rule. Because no matter how proactive anyone is, we can't prevent some flakey squad from signing up or failing to show up... And I think its kinda weak to pin that failure on the whole (axis or allied) team, Especially to the tune of 50 points per violation.
If one ten man team doesn't show up, you're docked 500 points. Not because the CIC didn't make the plan, but because of one or two irresponsible C.O.'s.
I've been told my squad is getting escorted by a 10 man squad and seen that squad NOT show up. More than once frankly. I end up with this one guy in a P51 flying along side going "Gee, sorry my guys didn't show".
Lets not pretend like it never happens.
