How to question: WRT54G from Router to Access Point
« on: December 02, 2007, 02:37:33 PM »
What options need to be changed to switch a WRT54G into an access point? I want to have it "receive" the signal from my other wireless router and send it through wired connections to the xBox360 and Playstation.

The other router is also a WRT54G set up with WEP encryption.

Also, when I get all this set up, will my laptop have any troubles connecting wirelessly?

Turn off DHCP in the first place.  I'm trying to think what other options you might need off (since I'm at work).  I use my D-Link router as just as wireless access point and I have an old PIII computer functioning as a linux firewall.

And your router will find whatever access points it detects.  You shouldn't have a problem.  Connect to the signal that is strongest.
