Performance curves between 10k-20k

Looking at the graphs for the speeds of various aircraft in AH at different altitudes, there's an interesting trend between 10k ft and 20k ft: performance often drops considerably after 10k ft, but then curves up again after 15-20k ft.
What's the explanation? Is it something about superchargers? I don't doubt the accuracy, I'm just curious.

P.S. I'm looking here

Examples include the P-51D, Fw-190A series (between 5-10k), and Typhoon.

Supercharger stages, some have low blower, high blower, then some are turbo-supercharged like the P-47 and have a constant amount of power up into the flight levels. All depends how the integration with the airframe turned out.

Ok, I did notice that the P-47 and 109 airspeeds improve with altitude regardless. There are others as well that have a performance gap.
Anyone who flys aircraft that suffer a gap between 10-20k should definitely keep it in mind when they encounter aircraft that don't.
