First of all, around these parts “Brittany” is a fictitious wounded deer that got a bunch of PETA-Tards questioning what constitutes bestiality and how best to nurse a sick animal back to health in a carpeted garage…

As far as Brittany Spears goes, you do realize that she is just another reality show, right?  Spears, Paris Hilton and the like are folks who the media has targeted simply to drum up business for themselves.  They sell this junk to the public because people are willing to buy it.  Personally, I find it disturbing that some jerk paparazzi photographer can snap a picture of one of them and sell it for more than I earn in a year, all because the public is gullible enough to eat it up.  I find it disturbing that Vietnam war era Pulitzer-Prize winning photographer, Nick Ut, has gone from capturing pictures like this:

to chasing after Paris Hilton, because that’s where the money is, or that’s how low we, he and/or the media has sunk.

While it's easy to sit back and judge Britany, I wonder how many of us would have been screwed up if we had grown up as she did, then was exposed to constant media attention.  Imagine not being able to ever go out in public without twenty photographers swarming around you.  Ever freaking moment outside of your home invaded by cameras, photographers hindering your every step.  Not something I envy.

That on top of not having anything close to a normal childhood, or chance to find your way or develop any concept of normal life.  Everyone wanting something from you, being told where to go and what to do.  If someone experienced all that and came out normal, it would be a miracle.

But, that being said, she is out of control, probably with mental issues that need years of therapy, and is not capable of taking care of children safely and properly.  She should not have custody, and supervised visit sadly are all she should be allowed after she cleans up and gets help.
"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!"
