Im in the same boat, though different fleet :P I lost my good internet connection (was AWSOME dial-up) the compony had its servers taken back by Telus and well im on Telus dial-up and i could get a hampster in a wheel connected to a phone jack to give better rates then what they give so im paying for an account i cant use until i pay for 3 new telephone poles (gotta love Shaw and being 900yrds away from the highway) just to accomadate hi-speed cable lines, just hopeing that a satellite connection will be my answer. Hope to see you soon and i hope to be on soon aswell ;)

I was on satellite for almost a year, only recently went to wireless..I was on Wildblue sat.I had ping rates averaging 1500MS..Get used to having some rubber bullets, some packet loss, and people telling you ONCE IN AWHILE,not all the time, that you are "pulling the plug":lol

Sometimes relogging will help, and sometimes it wont, what you will soon realize is that warping happens to you as it does to them..

But I did allright for a year of being on satellite..was a great BOMBER..:D

:cry damn well anything is better then the connection i have now considering i lag out with less then 20 players... just wish Telus wasnt so anal about making money and gave us back the stable and reliable connection i previously had.. on the other hand satellite is better then paying around $3-$4,000 just to replace telephone poles i had replaced when i first moved into this house 9 years ago and then the $850 just to get the cable laid and conected to the highway line... but apparently they are heavy and will "blow over" in the next windstorm..... and the 15/month thing is no prob for me aslong as HT adds me he-111 one day;)

Damn that sucks that they want you to pay to have telephone poles put in.  Do you have the option to use DSL at all?

One of my Squaddies (Baitman) also hails from the wilds of rural BC, and uses a sattelite ISP. You might want to ask him about his experiences... He connects well and I seldon see lag or warp when flying with him

Are you serious? Can you really stay connected to this game with such a ping? I really can't believe that, that'd be crazy.

Thanks Issue might just see what i'll be getting before i make the choice to buy it.

Trax - yes we have hi-speed cable and DSl lines past my house (runs for another 10-15km from where i live) its just i live in a 3 acre propterty out of town with 3 hydro poles on my property... so its not their problem according to them lol (makes sence just a real piss off) the land the poles sit on are soft ground so 2 of the 3 are leaning slightly and they think it will either blow over with the next big windsotrm (live in Powell River N. of Vancouver so we get a lot of junkie coast weather) that and the safty issues for the guy climbing the poles i can see aswell. Just a waiting game right now because im starting to build a large workshop for my 2 trucks and projects i have going on so eventually ill have to buy new poles anyhow to accomadate more lines from the highway... havent played AH since Oct. of 07 tried every game i can think of to re-route my addiction and its not working so i was investigating better internet and satellite is the only thing that id want to pay for at the moment. If not ill be getting hi-speed in 2-3 years when i finish the shop and install new lines and poles.. might aswell put an extra 850 in to get hi-speed but until then ive been looking at satellite to fill in the blank so to speak. Anyhow ill stop hijackin this topic from ya meenie...
