The FAA report doesn't say much, no description.  They definitely screwed up in saying that only two were aboard (and killed) and no one else was injured.

I don't think he said he was the pilot.

Actually, I was not the pilot at the controls at the time of the incident.  We had landed about an hour before and I hopped in the back seat to let our buddy ride up front; Both of my buddies were killed on impact, me hopping in back save my life that day.

I later, had lawyers contact me wanting me to sue my buddies insurance.  I told them that would amount to me taking money away from their families and I wanted nothing to do with it.  I was just glad to be alive and felt it would be in poor taste to jump on the lawyers band wagon to take money from families already greaving.

How bad were your injuries, specifically.

Did the FAA even talk to you?

Any idea why you were omitted from the report?

I saw the pilot in command was 19, were you and the other passenger also about the same age?

It said the plt and two friends. That's three, not two.

I see, the pdf report says only 2 aboard.

Incredible story.  Thank you for sharing it.
Do not attribute to malice what can be easily explained by incompetence, fear, ignorance or stupidity, because there are millions more garden variety idiots walking around in the world than there are blackhearted Machiavellis.

I was in decent shape considering.  I had my left bicep stitched back together with 73 stitches.  Both knee caps were crushed pretty badly, right wrist broken, a few borken ribs with the rest brused, some damaged discs in my back and both shoulders dislocated.  I was cut and scrapped up just about anywhere you could think to put a scab.  Oh yeah, they could not give me any pain meds incase they needed to rush me into surgery later, so all those stitches were with out anything to deaden the pain.

My only long lasting effects have been my knees and shoulders; had a couple of surgeries through the years to keep the knees working and both shoulders give me problems.  I am drawing 60% dissability for those injuries, but I get around pretty well in spite of it all.  I can almost predict the weather though.

Yes, we were all young and invencible; I was the oldest at age 21.

The FAA interviewed me while still in the hospital, with all the usual questions.  I had a copy of the original report and it had the correct number of passingers listed.  They may have transcribed the PDF document incorrectly when they computerized their data base.

yea, the two reports contradict themselves.  Sloppy work on the FAA investigation side.  Whoever wrote it up didn't have a good picture of the accident.
